The New Year & some goals

It has been about a week and a half into the new year and I think that I'm making some great progress!

I've always loved New Year's Eve because when the clock strikes 12 and everyone celebrates the arrival of the New Year, it's also my birthday. This year, for NYE + my 21st birthday I decided to go to a club downtown Toronto.

I got my dress & rhinestone choker from M Boutique and my shoes are Guess brand but I actually picked them up from Winners (score!).

I make resolutions for myself every year, sometimes I adhere to them and sometimes I don't. This year, instead of resolutions, I decided to set a few (attainable) goals to continue working on throughout the year.
1. Improve on time management: schedule gym & study time so I don't fall behind on either
2. Switch to cruelty-free products
3. Wake up earlier
4. Meal prep on Sundays
5. Maintain a consistent skincare routine
6. Make vegetarian choices more often
7. Read more books just for fun
8. Practice photography & filmmaking

I think these are all pretty attainable goals. A good tip in maintaining your New Years resolutions/goals or to achieve any goal in general, you need to establish a "how will I get there?" Instead of outright saying "my resolution is to lose 10 lbs," you have to make a plan for yourself. In my case, instead of saying "my resolution is to be more physically fit," I am giving myself a plan in the form of smaller, attainable goals to meet by aiming to schedule gym time, to do healthy meal prep once a week, and to be more conscious in my food choices by opting for more vegetarian options. Many people fail to maintain their resolution because they often overlook the step of the "how?" as well as making a small but active change in their lives. If you don't work, your resolutions won't work!

Do you have any New Year goals? Let me know in the comments!
